What makes a mattress breathable?

A mattress is breathable when its materials and design allow air and moisture to move through it instead of getting trapped. This can include open-cell or ventilated foams, latex with pinholes, coil cores with open spaces between springs, and breathable fabrics or quilting that don't seal in heat and humidity.
