Common covered defects include broken or protruding springs (in innerspring or hybrid mattresses), cracks or splits in foam that are not caused by misuse, significant body impressions beyond the stated depth, and major manufacturing defects in the stitching or cover. Cosmetic issues that do not affect performance are often excluded.
