What is the role of pocketed coils in motion isolation?

Pocketed coils are springs encased individually in fabric, so each coil can move on its own. Because the coils aren't tied together in a grid, they tend to transfer less motion from one part of the bed to another, especially when paired with good comfort layers on top.
