What is the difference between plush, medium, and firm comfort levels?

Plush (or soft) mattresses feel more cushioned and allow more sink-in, medium mattresses balance contouring and support, and firm mattresses feel flatter and more supportive at the surface. Most brands place plush/soft at one end of their comfort scale, medium in the middle, and firm at the more supportive end.
