What is the difference between natural and synthetic latex?

Natural vs. Synthetic Latex: Key Differences

The main difference lies in the amount of fillers used to create the latex foam. Manufacturers often use synthetic latex to maintain consistent quality and firmness, as well as to reduce production costs. Synthetic latex generally contains more fillers, which helps keep prices lower and ensures each mattress has a similar feel.

Natural latex, on the other hand, may still contain fillers but usually far fewer than synthetic latex. When comparing products, look for labels indicating 100% natural latex versus 50% natural latex. Because there are fewer fillers in 100% natural latex, you might notice slight variations in firmness from one mattress to another. However, these variations also make the product purer and more eco-friendly.
